Richard Brimhall
Dean of Admissions
Benchmark, a school for troubled teens & young adults, is delighted to have Richard Brimhall on our team. Richard brings to Benchmark a wealth of his extensive and varied life- experiences, in addition to his 14 years of personal recovery. He has been a businessman, who ran his own business for several years. He was a supervisor of a 125-bed residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for 5 years. Richard has worked at Benchmark for 9 years, three years as a residential counselor teaching life skills and 6 years as Dean of Admissions. He is certified to teach coursework in a rehabilitation program called Framework for Recovery and he is certified to perform CPR and First Aid. He is married and the father of four grown children and grandfather to three grandsons. He is a private pilot who flies his own Cessna 150. He loves coffee and enjoys the opportunity to find coffee beans from all over the world, so that he can roast his own coffee.
Shelley Skaggs, B.A.
Director of Marketing
Shelley has been with Benchmark Young Adult School since 1999, coordinating and implementing all of the advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with an emphasis on PR, from California State University, San Bernardino. Her experience includes coordinating public affairs and political campaigns. In addition, she worked for over five years in marketing and advertising with a large health care company in Southers California. Shelley and her husband live in Huntington Beach, California and have two boys. Together, they enjoy camping, boating, motorcycle riding and their children’s sporting activities.
